Editorial Standards
Our editorial standards
Living Is Aging is for adults 55 and older, and the families who support them, who want to live well through the changes later life brings. We cover staying active and healthy, relationships and family, money and retirement, and making a home that works as you age. This page explains who creates our content, how we check it, and how we keep it accurate.
Who writes and reviews our content
Every article has a named author with a profile listing their background and the topics they cover. Our editor reviews and approves every article before publication.
Because health and money decisions matter, articles on those topics get an extra check: • Health articles are reviewed by credentialed medical professionals • Money, benefits and housing articles are reviewed by subject matter experts.
Reviewed articles show the reviewer's name and the date of the review.
How we research
• We rely on primary and official sources: government agencies such as Medicare, Social Security and the National Institute on Aging, peer-reviewed research, and established nonprofits. • We link to our sources so readers can check them. • Program rules, benefit amounts, deadlines and eligibility change often. We name the year and source for every figure, and we tell readers to confirm details with the program before applying. • We explain trade-offs. When a decision depends on your situation, such as staying in your home, downsizing, or using home equity, we lay out the options and who each one suits.
What our content is not
Our articles are general information, not personal medical, legal or financial advice. For decisions about your health, money or legal affairs, talk with a qualified professional who knows your situation.
How we use AI
We may use AI tools to help with research, outlines or first drafts. A human editor reviews, fact-checks and edits every article before publication, and our reviewers check health and money content. We never use AI to create fake experts, quotes or stories presented as real people's experiences.
Keeping content current
Each article shows when it was published and last updated. We review articles on benefits, programs and money at least once a year, and right away when a rule or amount changes. We review health articles when new guidance is published.
Advertising and independence
Living Is Aging is free to read and supported by advertising. Advertisers don't choose our topics, see our articles before publication, or influence our recommendations. Sponsored or paid content, if we publish it, is clearly labeled. We never ask readers for personal financial information.
Corrections and feedback
If you see an error or something out of date, email info@livingisaging.com. We review every report, correct confirmed errors, and note significant corrections in the article.
